*SPOILER FREE*
Just come back from seeing Prince Caspian (that new Narnia movie) with a friend after taking her little bro to see it. Admittedly we enjoyed it a lot more than he did, especially seeing that Prince Caspian is a hottie hot hottieEmperor's New Groove plz. SEE SEE SEE?

I'm shallow, Ben Barnes (the actor) was in my Top 5 Reasons to see this movie as soon as possible. XDDD But he can ACT. And his accent was sexy.
I know. No awkward Orlando Bloom stiffWTF acting here. Thank god. BD
The movie was really good, even though I find The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was heaps more EPIC...I liked it a lot, they really improved on the special effects and though some of the plot changed from the book it was handled well. If we're debating books-turned-to-movies I have to say I prefer Narnia to Harry Potter any day. Mostly because Narnia was written so long ago that seeing changes to the plot and dialogue was nice. I think I'd crack up and die if Peter and Edmund started saying 'By Jove!' and 'Great Scott!' like they do in the books.
And they gave Susan a more active kickass role - C.S. Lewis seems to have a thing for women not being part of the action. D:
Not to mention Narnia casts better looking actors than Harry Potter overall haha.
And omg they all grew up and look so pretty now. Lucy especially, and Susan my god she's gorgeous. And Peter was already pretty grown up but EDMUND. God, EdmundEdmundEdmund aksjdaksjda;lks omg marry me I HAVE A BIGGER CRUSH ON HIM NOW, WHAT.

DDD: GOD WHY DO ALL THE NARNIA BOYS HAVE TO BE SODORKY PRETTY. Complaining, who's complaining? My compliments to whoever did the casting, the kids actually look like they're related, well except maybe Peter but hey, oh well.
XD
There was a lot of struggles with growing up and coming of age and that crap, I always like that in a movie. And the ending was so bittersweet...;^; GAH, it's not fair this is only fiction. XD
And omg Caspian/Susan? Why didn't that go anywhere? For shame, that looked pretty interesting.
*interest* On the walk home my friend and I were talking about that, she was saying she'd have liked the movie better if the kids weren't all related so there'd be more chance for romance and then her little bro pipes up that yeah, then Peter/Susan can be a couple and Edmund/Lucy can be one too! I LOL'ed. Kids. XD Of course I was thinking more along the lines of Peter/Edmund which is totally my SECRETGUILTYFETISH SHUT UP so I can't talk much. LOLOLOLOL
Surprisingly Caspian/Peter does nothing for me, as hot as it is.
Maybe I'm missing something. We'll see where that goes. Still...I wouldn't say no to Caspian/Peter/Edmund OT3 PLZ. XDDD
But srsly canon-wise I really like that there isn't much romance flying around, it's just BETTER that way, I dunno, it's hard to explain. BD;;
Hm, I'm going to try my hand at Narnia fanart, see how that goes. I'd TOTALLY go see this movie again if someone askscos I wanna stare at the pretty boys again mwahahaha.
GOD you know this movie series is good, because I'm rarely this shallow about hot movie boys, EVER. It's just not me. How embarrassing hahaha. XD
LOVES ON IT.

Everyone keeps saying how awesome it is.
o.o
And less romance in movies is good!
Well, in my opinion.
That's mostly because there seems to be romance in every other movie.

"It really shouldn't work that way." vs. "But it does, so shut up!"

Come live with me, and be my love, And we will some new pleasures prove, Of golden sands, and crystal brooks, With silken lines, and silver hooks.

No, no I agree, barely there romance or none at all is so much better because like you said, there's romance in every other movie and this one doesn't need the extra baggage. It's already EPIC.

And I was pissed at the lack of follow-up of Susan/Caspian too, though it wasn't in the books and people were whining about it. I was like "C'mon, dude. LOOK AT THEM. They are both totally friggin hott and not related - they're just going to IGNORE each other?" Plz ppl. Plz.
And I'm surprised you made no mention of Caspian/Peter.

I don't see why people whine about it - CS Lewis was a bit of a prude in that department and I liked it, it was an interesting twist and VERY sweet.
I was wondering if anyone would ask me that. XD Hot as it sounds, I dunno, it just isn't doing much for me, they were fighting a lot and admittedly I was paying more attention to 'awwing' at Caspian and Susan and LOLing/trying to remember that Pete and Ed were related even while subtext reeked of hand-holding and 'You've always been there Ed. I...' 'STFU while I pop your shoulder back idiot.' XDDD
That and there's been a huge hate-fest over Caspian/Peter at narnia_slash on LJ because it's not 'true slash' or some shit so I'm reluctant to touch it. Though I wouldn't say no to a Caspian/Peter/Edmund OT3 lol
